Warmblood | Breyer Breeds

Warmbloods are a group of middle-weight horse types and breeds primarily originating in Europe. The term distinguishes these horses from both heavy draft horses (cold bloods) and refined light saddle horses such as the Thoroughbred, Arabian, and Akhal-Teke (hot bloods). Warmbloods have become popular since the end of World War II when mechanization made agricultural horses obsolete, and recreational riding became more widespread in the western world.

Quarter Horse – Breyer Breeds

The origins of the Quarter Horse can be traced to Colonial America. The short horses echoed a pioneer experience, and were quick, tough, and hardy – traits necessary and suited to life on a wilderness frontier. These heavily muscled, compact horses could run a short distance over a straightaway faster than any other horse, and the fastest were called Celebrated American Quarter Running Horses by English colonists in the 1600s.
